The Los Angeles Police Department

The Los Angeles Police Department (officially the City of Los Angeles Police Department), commonly referred to as the LAPD, is the third-largest police department after the New York Police Department and Chicago Police Department, and is responsible for law and order in Los Angeles, California with over 9000 uniformed personnel and over 3000 civilian employees.  If you’re one of them or have friends or family in the force, Police Brand Memorabilia and Collectibles’ Customisable Wooden Thin Blue Line Flag with the name or badge number, a Police Bulldog Sticker/Decal for the car, or just the Police Bulldog Challenge Coin to add to a collection featuring challenge coins. It is noteworthy that our four-legged friends of the K9 Unit are also an important part of the agency, and so are their handlers, for them, we have the K9 Unit Sticker and K9 Unit Challenge Coin. It has under its jurisdiction 498 square miles of area and is home to a population of more than 4,000,000 people. The department is one of the most popular as it is fictionalized for the use of film, television, and novel plots very often.

The mission of the Los Angeles Police Department is to protect the lives and property of the people they are sworn to serve, reduce rate and fear of crime within the community, enhance public safety and work with the community to improve overall quality of life. One of their leading goals is to make sure that families can work, play, and live without the fear of violence, intimidation, drug abuse, or gangs in their neighborhoods. Their mandate is to do so with honor and integrity. They conduct themselves with the highest level of ethical standards so the public can continue to place their faith in them. They have several special units for delegation of work so that crime and disorder can be checked efficiently. These units are as follows:-

  •  S.W.A.T.
  • Off-Road Enforcement
  • Mounted Unit
  • Special Operations Support Division
  • Air Support Division
  • Art Theft Detail
  • K-9 Unit
  • ACTF
  • Gang and Narcotics Division
  • Specialized Enforcement Section (Motors & Commercial Enforcement)

The Los Angeles Police Force first came to be in 1853 and was then known as the Los Angeles Rangers, a force that assisted the LA County forces on a voluntary basis. However, the department as it stands today was founded in 1869. The official motto of the Los Angeles Police Department is “To Protect and To Serve”, which is very similar to the message of Police Brand Memorabilia and Collectibles’ Honorbound Protect and Serve Police Coin. All of these factored in, it only makes sense to support these brave hearts in their endeavor, and the Peace Love Black and Blue Shirt can help members of the community do just that and let their sworn officers know that they’re doing a good job and that the community is proud.

Please note that in no way is Police Brand Memorabilia and Collectibles affiliated to any law enforcement or governmental organization.
